The latest WhatsApp update now lets users mark a conversation as unread by simply tapping and holding on any conversation pane until you gets a ‘Mark As Unread’ option that adds a green dot indicator in front of the chat. It must be noted that this feature does not change the read messages status within a chat. In other words, making a conversation as unread after reading it doesn’t make the blue ticks against it to grey color.
